I have quite a few 1954 banknotes, mostly $1's and $2's. Probably about 15 of each.

In addition to these ,I have about 10 ea of the 1954 devil's hair portraits.

Should I just try to double my money - over face value to get rid of them or hang on to them for a few more years. Most are in the VG-F grade.

I do plan on holding onto the notes that are graded AU-Unc as they don't become available that often.

What are you suggestions?

I just had to make the same decision having a couple of dozen spare '54s VG-F kicking around. I just sent them off to be sold yesterday.

I would hold onto the Devils in any condition as they are one of the only notes that I find, demand full book in the lower grades.

Recently went on a road trip with some buddies to a football game in a major city in Canada, took about 100 dollar bills(nothing rare or in great shape) tore release into the wild. We had a riot seeing expressions on the faces of the people that got them for payment or tips, was worth more than a profit of a few cents on the bills

I did take some 50 cent pieces with me 1977, 1978 etc, last time I visited Toronto, bought a meal at a national fast food place and the girl at the counter told me that she didn't think that she could accept these. I told her it says CANADA right on the coin. She looked at me funny and then accepted it as payment.
