Now I am pretty sure it is: Hadrian AE As Obverse: HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP, laurete head right Reverse: S C across, Minerva standing right brandishing javelin and holding shield Reference: RIC 827, Cohen 1359 Please correct me if I am wrong Edited by Whizb4ng 04/08/2013 9:43 pm

Yeah this seller often has a lot of nice coins as well and they all end around the same time so lower quality ones like this tend to slip through the cracks for cheap and I am more than happy to pick them up.

I not 100% sure about the Hadrian attribution. I see a 'big' nose and that works for Hadrian .... but something doesn't look right for him. Maybe Marcus on a bad day ? Portrait looks bearded no ?

Now that I look at it again the hair on top looks curlier like Marcus as well. I will have to search around tomorrow see what I can dig up

Wow, I am a bit of an idiot. Apparently read what I want to read. I was looking back at the auction and it plainly says Marcus Aurelius and not Hadrian. Don't know where my head was at.

I can't really tell if the mark on the left is a letter or not because that is not the location of the S. I haven't been able to find a Marcus with just SC across when mixed with Minerva

Thanks FVRIVS. I was leaning towards that attribution but was second guessing myself.
I am still getting used to the reference books and the picture I found of that coin the O in COS looked off in comparison to the SC. I am better with pictures than text.
