Hi,
I'm very new to this so I apologize in advance if I ask something that should be common knowledge. I do try to research as much as I can before asking.
I have this 1920 Honan 50 Cash (Y#394). It matches exactly the example shown on NGC, but not so much the example shown on Numista (see the first picture below). The size is correct and it weighs 17g, although I can't find what the weight of the coin should be to know if that is correct too.
The next issue is that the die rotation on mine is wrong (see the second picture below). It's supposed to be ^^ but mine is more ^>. Also, there seems to be a lot of extra 'material' around the rim below where it says "50 Cash". Compare it to the NGC version and you can see how close the lettering should to be to the rim.
So, do I have a cool error coin on my hands or a fake gone wrong?
If it is an error coin, what would that do to the value of this particular coin?
Thanks for any input you can give!
