I look for wheats, copper, Indian heads, proofs, s mints and other bu pennies older than 82.

I sell all the coppers I get for 160-165$/100$ face - and not on ebay so I keep the profit. I do 200$ or more/week. It adds up

I just sold 80lbs of copper LMC to a guy today for $3 lb.

That's $116 profit in my pocket.

Now I just need to find someone to take the other 150lbs of my hands at a good price.

If I had a steady buyer I would invest in a sorting machine but for now it's the thrill of the hunt the old fashioned way.

It is certainly worthwhile to separate the coppers from the zincolns. The main thing to account for is the time value of your labor. Currently my change consists of about 20% coppers and 80% zincolns. I don't spend the coppers.

If you are searching the rolls anyway, then it is worth it to save the coppers along with any wheat pennies, etc.

Since I'm already searching Lincoln rolls, it hardly seems like extra work to set aside the copper. Been doing it for years, so I'm not in it for a quick score. I separate out the wheats, the nicer Lincolns, and the S mints. I also get a fair number of Canadian cents too.

I'm guessing I have about 46,000 Memorial Lincolns in a big, thick glass jar.

People keep saying they save the s mint pennies... Are all s mint pennies valuable regardless of the year?

Generally speaking, yes, since their mintage numbers are usually lower than the other two mints.
