This is a Sweden Carl XII Town Square Garden 10 Ore Token. C C.S.& Co and train on the obverse. I can't seem to find any information on this token in my books or online research. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Nothing to do with a garden. Stadsgården is a place on the Stockholm waterfront (originally Stadens Skeppgård, meaning dockyard or port facility). Carl XII-Torg is a city park or square in Stockholm. Given the railroad reference, I bet these were two stations, perhaps the two terminal stops that a particular municipal line was known by.

CC.S & Co. likely refers to CC Sporrong and Co., Swedish token manufacturer (still in business: http://www.sporrong.com ).

Found a reference in a Baedecker travel guide from 1911 to a Stockholm line from Carl XII Torg to StadsgÃ¥rden. Only it's not rail or tram, but steamship ferry! So despite the locomotive depicted, this may more likely be an Ã.ngslupspollett (steam-launch token), and at least one sale listing for a similar 8-öre example suggests the same thing.

Thank you for the info philadelphian! I typed it into google translate and it came out Town Square Garden. This token is very thin. Can you please post the link for the 8-öre example? I can't seem to find it.

Here's a scalloped 5-öre variety, page 17 of this PDF, #82.

This 8-öre is square, and lacks the locomotive.
