Hi Guys,
I usually hang out in the Canadian NCLT section. I have decided I want to start collecting 1/4oz Gold Pandas. I just bought a 2013 1/4oz Gold Panda and I'm waiting for it to arrive.
i want to display them in a coin box of some sort. maybe a nice wooden one. they are 22.1mm diameter.
does anyone know of a coin box or anything I can display these for presentation?

Well, you could use those acrylic thingy mahooeys. But the best presentation box is a big safe. Bolted down. With barbed wire. And attack dogs.

Have you considered one of those Lighthouse aluminium cases? They have trays of various sizes that seem to display coins reasonably well. I'm planning on getting one this year.

LOL thanks guys.
In Canada we don't have access to half that stuff! but I can stick an angry beaver with huge choppers on it.
in all seriousness, i'll check out those lighthouse cases.

You may not have claymores, but an angry moose or polar bear can also be a great deterrent.
In all seriousness the lighthouse cases are fantastic

I'm with you 100% on wanting to display and be able to regularly admire valuable coins, but... As soon as any visitors see your display, word of it will spread like wildfire and be all over the place in no time flat. That'll make you a prime target for a home invasion-burglary and increase the odds of your getting hit to astronomical. Major family safety problem! The jokes above about guard dogs, machine gun turrets, etc weren't really entirely jokes. Keeping your stash unknown is the single most important security measure of all. If you just have to proceed with the display case thing, maybe you could do a "covert" one... Get one of those wall-mounted, glass door-fronted cases (search "coin display case" in Amazon) and tack an appropriate-sized Canadian flag over the front of it. When you're at home alone and want to look at your coins, remove the flag for a couple minutes. If/when you choose to let other people look at the coins in the display case, realize that you're doing so at your own risk. If you want a "keep it in a closet" kind of case, see... http://www.jpscorner.com/wood-coin-...y-boxes.html ... http://www.coinsupplyexpress.com/Co...y-Boxes.aspxhttp://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro.../coin-cases/ ... http://www.translinesupply.com/disp...ntation.aspxGood luck, happy shopping and stay safe...

At the very least make sure its something you can put away. Last thing you want is valuable coins laying around if you have people over doing work on the house. I was serious though people would not mess with a polar bear

^^ that's what I want!
i'll be keeping it in my safe but it's a cool thing to pull out and show my father or my children if I ever have some. I forgot to mention that the case has to fit in a safe as I won't have gold coins laying around my house.

the cool thing about this case is that you can mount it on the wall or stand on table. insert a family photo in front of the coins and it becomes a photo frame. who will still your family photo:)

@silverbug: Ever seen the movie Casino? Joe Pesci's character, when ransacking a house for goodies, would turn the picture frames down so he wouldn't have to look at who he was robbing.

so I got my 1/4oz gold panda. I LOVE it. I wish it were a little bigger but I can't afford to collect larger ones. one thing though is my strategy is all different. I got it from APMEX and it came in the plastic sleeve from the mint. I assumed it would have come in capsule as my 1oz silver pandas did. I don't want to open it and handle it and put it in a capsule so now I need to think of a new way to display. here is what it came in. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i7lDozZ9m...everse01.jpgthe package sort of looks like a 2x2 so maybe I can just buy a 2x2 lighthouse box? we'll see I guess.

It should fit in the lighthouse treys. I wouldnt open that either the mint sealed ones generally have a bit of a premium.

And the mint sealed also act as a security device, there are sign of were it was minted at.
There are fake sealed gold Panda also, and the experts can tell if the plastic used is genuine or fake.
