Does anyone know (or care to speculate) if there is a sequel planned for bullion silver wildlife series? I loved the offering and completed the entire set. The coins seemed to be well-received (even the notoriously ugly bobcat sells at a nice premium over spot), and made a nice companion set to the annual silver maple leaf series.
From my end, it has been total silence from the Mint on any follow-up series, and I'm starting to think that the silver wildlife series has become a one-off like the 1/2 oz silver wolf of a few years ago. I guess when you can get away with selling 1 oz silver coins for $100, there's not much incentive to sell them at bullion value.

The mint probably wouldn't announce it until the first coin is actually released.

I bought the Grizzly Bear bullion coin, along with the 1.5 oz polar bear to start a "bear" collection (along with the 1 oz. O Canada Polar Bear), but none of the others were as nice so I didn't bother to complete the "set". I didn't think the premium over spot price was worth a design that, personally, I didn't like. If they came out with a full set with a display case I would have gone for it, but being bullion coins I know why they didn't.
I am interested if there is a $100 for $100 series, hopefully with a display case and designs that stay with a theme.

Here's your artist, make your request, she is a freelance so she submits and gets paid a royalty. http://emilydamstra.wordpress.com/She designs a lot of them for the mint and with enough demand for her designs, you will continue to see them over and over again.

Quote: If they came out with a full set with a display case You didn't buy individual coins, but will buy as a set? The same coins? There is a couple types of the wooden boxes and capsules for this series, so you can make your set, like many people did. For the "Bear" collection: This one came from Greenland: http://www.talismancoins.com/servle...tail?no=20611oz .999 Silver Proof, Mintage : 950 Nice item for World or Bear collection.

@silveroid - not sure why I would like it more in a set, maybe it's because they would be together in a box, not just individual coins. Thanks for the link, I'll look into this coin.

While the sale of the wildlife series was wildly popular and success, the milk spots and lack of quality in the series has left many collectors with numismatically worthless coins and and a bad taste in their mouths. If they were to come out with a sequel, they would have a lot of PR to do, to convince people they have taken care of the quality control problems.

Even not a sequel, just Proof versions with the COA that proves that milk spots never will appear

How about... all six coins, in proof, in one display box.

Those were coins intended for the German market, sold as bullion in parallel to the maple leafs. The series, as long as I know, is over. They can be easily bought, without a premium, in Europe. The 1 1/2 oz bear was an attempt to launch a new product - apparently it failed, we will not see a second coin in the "series."
Quality of strike was never intended - just a mass production of bullion to satisfy the big coins hoarding habit of Europeans.

I believe there is a bird series coming. I read this somewhere but just can't remember.
