If you ask me, CAC is a waste of time and $. I'm not more impressed because of a CAC verification sticker yet sellers all over seem to treat it as a reason to jack their price up A LOT. I end up eliminating them all from consideration as a result. Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me!

More people seek them out than refuse to buy them. Most people will buy them if they like it though. As a whole their snickered coins do look better than their peers which is why people go for it

, but one doesn't need the added cost of the coin having a CAC sticker if they can see that for themselves.

I ignore the sticker and look at what is inside. The whole concept of grading the grader is kind of ridiculous in my book. The only slabbed coins hubby and I purchase are his FBL Franlkins and my rarer coins (3cn if you haven't guessed!) or those series I am not 100% confident in my authentication abilities.
If someone want to pay a higher price due to the current market, more power to 'em. I choose not to.

Thats true its certainly not necessary for most collectors which is why a lot of people have the if its there its there mentality. Just like more rare coins gets slabbed over time I would suspect the same will be true here, meaning over time itll be harder to avoid it completely as more of the nicer coins get stickered

BuffalosRock, As far as slobbered coins, I would need to have Trade dollars or any key date coins verified before I buy. not necessarily from a TPG but, from as many sources available to me. CAC

bpoc1, I am not against TPG grading and I agree that for many there is a "safety net" with certified graded coins. My objection is that CAC "double secret probation verification" IMO is superfluous and just adds cost to coins with no value added. Some dealers seem to use it to add hundreds to their pricetags. I haven't noticed CAC coins being superior - on avg - over non-CAC ones but they sure price them like they are! I don't think the industry needed more gimmicks to squeeze $ out of collectors. "+" and CAC and OGHs etc.

As I stated last time you made similar claims:
The market will support what people are willing to pay.

There are some pretty nice coins with CAC stickers on them...on the flip side, I have seen a few CAC coins that did not warrant a second look. I think I covered that well.
It all boils down to "eye appeal" to me.
