I have a 1969 c 100 dollar star note. It is in fantastic shape with the exception of a slight crease in the center. I've tried looking it up, but can't find any from the L block. Serial is L 01369933* is this worth holding on to?

Can you post a photo or a scan? I have a price guide from 2008 that lists it at $150 in EF condition and $400 in Ch CU condition. John1

The HA that was posted shows the same note in better condition and it did sell for $350.00 bid. The figure shown is with the BP (buyers premium) added. Also, the buyer has indicated they would be willing to sell it and is requesting offers through HA.
So to get to a better estimate of value, a scan would be necessary. That said, books I have looked at show CH CU at $275, $300 range.

ok...I hope this works. My scanner isn't the best, but you can get the general idea :)

Hi Beckals,
Thanks for posting the scan. The scan helps narrow the grade down some, but would need to be in hand to be more precise. IMHO (I am no expert) this looks XF to possibly AU based upon standards. To determine if AU or not, the center fold would have to be examined closely to see if it broke the surface of the note. There is another diagonal crease from the top mid right side going to the right. Also the upper left corner looks wrinkled. These can be seen on the back as well.
It is a very nice collectable note.

Should I hold onto one that is the same condition, year, series, and block, but no star serial? The serial number isn't odd/special either.

Hi, I would pay more than $105. I'm sure that the bill will be more expensive, just wait. Spontaneously, I would pay $ 120 + $ 5 for shipping. The prices which are shown in the link from John 1 are not always up to date. For example: $100 1914 Federal Reserve Note Red $1000.-$2000.+ $4000.+ 1914 Federal Reserve Note Blue $350.-$500.+ $800.+ 1922 Gold Certificate Gold $550.-$1350. $2500.+ 1928 Gold Certificate Gold $250.-$750. $1350.+ The bills are more expensive than they described.

FYI, Beckals and hajduk...neither of you have enough posts to B/S/T yet. Don't want to get mom and pop made. Minimum of 50 post to buy and 250 to sell. John1

Oh no... I'm not trying to sell it. I'll hold on to the one that's worth something. I was just wanting to know if I should hold on to the other one I have or spend the $100. It's essentially the same bill, just different serial and no * at the end. Thanks :)
