I got this 2 oz 999 fine silver proof when I was in BC in the 80`s while on vacation. Its has the Canadian Goose flying and says wildlife series, but no date or dollar value. Its in my bank or I would have a picture. I'm hoping my Canadian friends may help ID this coin? as to its origin. It is a good looking coin.
Thanks Gary

From your description, I would say that what you have is a medal and not a coin. If it has "North American Wildlife" on its reverse, it is part of series of medals. I don't know how many medals were in the series, but I was able to find a medal featuring the Mule Deer with the same series name/markings.

In terms of value, it probably wouldn't sell for much more than its silver melt value.

I'm thinking that this is the coin in question:

My guess is that this is a flat bullion coin, and I can guarantee it is not a Canadian coin, due to the lack of a monarch alone. I suspect this was made by one of the private mints, perhaps Danburry, Golden State, or Sunshine.
