here is a French coin from 1604 I found only 1 the exact same but it was silver this seems to be brass ? could this be a counterfeit?
please comment on your views and if you know the value of this .

Depends on whether its listed as silver or billon. Billon is such a debased alloy that it can contain a minute % of actual silver, letting other metals show through.

This looks like a royal consul jeton. Here's one for Louis XIII that has a similar reverse.

The metal is laiton, which is brass.

I love cool coins like these. I collect British and older American for the most part, but I have some older French, too. Nice pick up!
