Hi there folks. I was contacted by a family member who was looking to me to assist in identifying a coin or medallion of some sort that was alleged to have been given to his folks by the Pope in 1969. I'm a medal collector, so this is way out of my field. Can anyone out there kindly assist with what exactly is this? Thanks from a sunny and warm South Africa.

It's a papal medal of Pope Paul VI. The date looks like 1967.
