Hello again and thank you for your reply.

The weight is: .80 oz

And the diameter is 3.5 cm
thickness - .2 cm

There is some written on the edge - the english says:

"GOLD 900"

and another place says:

"10474"

Thank you!

Wow. That's exciting.

Now, if I may ask two more questions:

1. Is there a way to finally verify that this is in fact a gold medal (not a fake or copy) so I don't end up getting my expectations up?

2. What should I do at this point, if it is valued at the price in the 2nd link you gave? Do you recommend a decent place for a newbie to sell this coin? And, are there any final maintenance instructions you would give to ensure I don't do anything stupid to devalue the coin?

Thanks again for your input and your time.

The weight you gave seems rather low - how accurate are your scales ? Do you know a local friendly jeweller ?

Thank you and I apologize for the delay.

I was able to put this on a bit more accurate scale and it read:

1.1 oz.

Does that make a bit more sense?

Ok. Well that's more like it.

I appreciate all your help.

First off do not do anything to the coin just leave it in the box.

Secondly do you have a local jeweller or coin dealer who could verify it is what it is meant to be.

Thirdly do some research online to see what this coin sells for - ebay, coin auction sites etc and then decide what to do with it / how to sell it.

Of course you could keep it and start collecting.
