Got a couple of new medieval coins for my Notable Historical Figures collection:

Richard I "Lionheart: (A.D. 1189 - 1199)
AR Denier, A.D. 1189 - 1199, Melle (Poitou), 19mm, .80g, ~15°, Elias 8; Poey D'Avant 2506.
Obv: +RICARDVS REX. Cross pattée.
Rev: PIC/TAVIE/NSIS.
Couple-New-Medieval-Coins

Edward I "Longshanks" (A.D. 1272 - 1307)
Silver Penny, A.D. 1299 - 1300, Bury St. Edmunds, 18mm, 1.36g, ~180°, Class 9b1.
Obv: +EDW R ANGL DNShYB. Facing bust of Edward, star on breast.
Rev: VILL/SCIE/DMV/NDI. Long cross, three pellets in each angle.

Awesome Lionheart. I have been trying to get my first medieval for awhile now but I am picky. I am trying to track down a decent Hapsburg for a good price.

I was born and brought up in Bury St Edmunds.I still only live 8 miles away.
