1963 Seated Liberty Perfect Counterfeit?

Gyrene7483 Pillar of the Community United States 1704 Posts	Posted 05/09/2013 12:21 pm Not having a CC mint mark or the motto IN GOD WE TRUST does not mean it is a counterfeit since this type dollar was made at multiple mints and they were struck without the motto from 1836 to 1865 and with motto from 1866 to 1873. The weight is a dead give away that the coin is no good a geniune one should weigh 26.73 grams in high grade and just slightly less in good to very good condition. The ring of the coin when dropped will be flat and a real silver dollar will have a much higer tone. If you have a raw Morgan or Peace dollar drop it an inch or two onto the table and then drop this Seated Liberty dollar, I am certain they won't sound the same.
