Been perusing this forum for a couple of months without much to add or ask until now. Don't know if this has come up before but I'd like to know what you guy's think about the pre 1988 RCM silver bullion bars. There are 2 on ebay at present, 1 at buy now and 1 on auction. My questions are: Does the serial number make a difference? 1 is a relatively low A series and the other a higher B series. Also, as these seem to be quite rare, do you think that they are a good purchase as an investment?
Thanks W

I dont know much about bars, but the one thing I do know is if theyre anything like the Englehard bars the lower the serial number the the more people will be willing to pay

I prefer 1 oz coins as an investor and as a collector and they are easy to resell. I think ten ounce bars are ok just make sure you stick to widely known brands which wouldn't be faked. I wouldn't by anything over 10oz though.

Anyone know when each series was released? I presumed they started with A?

Serial means alot when it comes to these 10oz bars. I'd prefer the A over a B, C, D, E, or F bar

These were all minted between 1983- 1987.

Not many around and expect to pay over $400 even if spot is $23.XX
