Hi,

I sorta got off on the wrong foot with my first post here. So for now I'm going to try to ask questions and learn more about what I have.

Surfing this forum I've seen it posted a gentleman was much involved with these from the start.

Here is what I think I know about the set of panels I have.

Its complete, with the sub panels.

Question? Why does one copy of my 1A have 2 different type bills with only 1500 made?

Also I've read about the 1/2 penny on panel 8 without the PM mark. Are they all like this. Mine has no PM.

At this time I'm one the fence on keeping or at one point maybe ebay.

I have alot of paperwork with these I would share if people would like to see them.

I've learned surfing that the sub series were only sold to people who bought the org ones?

I have been sitting on these for a long long time as they were a family members who I think got the full set?

The more I learn the more I want to keep them, and I'm not sure why I have dup-s of some, except the 1a-s I have are different concerning the bill.

Any input would be helpful and id not mind answering or to share pics.

I've a few newer singles, like the 81 FAO 1.3 oz siver coin, but cant figure where it would of fit into my family members grand plan.

The more I look, the more different all the become.

But I can gather from the news letters this was not a easy undertaking from the start, and the few panels with the letters/notes I have show this.

Wiki? Had some good info...but it would be nice to learn more for people vs the web.

Thanks, Mark

A little information

The 1A boards that you have are exactly the same except one shows the obverse of the Jamaican note and the other shows the reverse.

You have an almost complete collection of the boards and are only missing the dark blue version of Board number 1 which contains the same coins as the red board

There are many other series of albums and individual FAO coins and although you do not mention any details of country or face value of your 1981 coin it is no doubt part of the first World Food Day (October 16, 1981) issue and I would guess from the little information that you have given it is from Tonga

I have the vast majority of the FAO albums and boards. The best resource that I know of about these coins is my friend Art's website:

Angielczyk, could you possibly send me an email? I have a question for you about mint identification for modern Israeli coins. I don't have enough posts on this forum to email you yet, though. Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks for the input, Yes the Tonga is the 2 Panga? One of 3k?

Do you know how or why or when the blue 1 panel was put out, why the color difference?

And yes the website mentioned above is great, I tried to email at the one listed and it got sent back.

Although coins are not my thing I'm surprised that in looking at the website mentioned that some of the boards wont even bring as much as the org. cost.

Since these were a family members and imo are some pretty cool coins and seems to of helped many I think I might keep the set and get rid of the dups I have but I still cant figure out why the family member got doubles of some as his notes from way back show what he bought.

I wonder about the blue board as its not like this fella to miss one.

I have a email he wrote when computers first came out from a 197? saying XXXX coins would be delayed but he emailed Rome almost 20 years later wanting his missing coins....
