Grade Good VF and key date
so around 395 GBP
see one sold about VF ex mount 200 GBP
if it was my shilling I would want retail 450 GBP cash or 550 in trade
Its quite a rare date
You did well on your 3 coins depending on what you paid
Yours

I would say that it is a US Extra Fine (a UK GVF).

Great coin! I just bought a 1758 George II Shilling yesterday: https://goccf.com/t/151697Unfortunately my coin, unlike yours, isn't a key date. Numismatic Biz gave me a good idea of my coin (As he has for you). I would grade your coin at a US VF-30 or a UK F-15/VF-20 (I'm not entirely familiar with UK STANDARDS). There is wear on the chin where the lines are worn considerably, the eye is smudged and there are some issues with the top and left crown and the centre rays are unclear. Great Coin! My advice? Have it certified. Use NGC, PCGS, ICG or ANACS. Don't trust other services. With professional grading though I don't think you'll get any higher than VF-20 as those services mark pretty hard. The main problem lies with the crown's and eye. As far as valuation is concerned my guess is as good as anyone else's. Good Luck!

gVF is OK by me. They always exhibit wear around George's eye, in grades such as this one, and lower. Nevertheless, a desirable coin with attractive, even grey tone.
