I'm OK with XF (not "+") for it. Not completely comfortable with the originality of the surfaces. The contrast between the light areas and dark areas (especially on the reverse) is a little unsettling, but it could also be an artifact of the photography. I see details around the date and behind the lower hair which make me want to look closer.

If it's an original coin, the price is "I'll buy all you have like that, right now." If it's a Details coin, no worse than even but you'll lose every penny you put into
(necessary) slabbing to get the best resale, and maybe a few bucks more. This has to boil down to a judgment call on your part, preferably with the coin in-hand while you decide.

If it's an online offering....yeah, truthfully, I'm seriously considering dropping $200 on what I see there.

IMHO, solid for the XF grade and not a bad price. The pics are a bit distant, yet the surfaces look decent. I can't help but wonder if the coin's been artificially retoned, given its overall, olive coloration. Still, I find it to be a pleasing example.

Let's see the thoughts of others on this ...

It seems to be a nice XF coin with good eye appeal. here is a comparison AU 53 (scratched) ANACS purchased raw in 2008 for $230.

I like it, but also question the coloring a little, also appears to have a scratch across the 1.

I agree with Exoguy on the retoning and SuperDave on the surfaces, but the detail is at least XF IMO. The '26 I have is very similar but in hand I could see a difference in the field particularly on the reverse about the eagle. Mine has a strange hue just in this area. I cannot tell anything on this coin but it would be more evident in hand of course. I would buy it for that amount.

I agree with the others. The surfaces don't look original to me.

Great details on the coin.

Not an expert on bust coinage so I won't comment on the grade or originality.

I would welcome that one as an upgrade to my 7070.

It's a very nice coin but I also wonder about the surface even from the distant shot photo. Having said that, such a high percentage of bust half dollars are old cleanings and perhaps touched up.

Muddler has a great idea showing his example and price to help you. Here's my example which is a lesser grade and I paid $105

Our '38. Paid $115 around 2005. Probably dipped/cleaned so much I didn't have to bath for a month, but I'm a sucker for these beautiful ladies, hence the UserName.
Can you take a larger image to see the detailing better....

Paleoguy, that's a stunning similarity.... except I think my gal liked long hot baths in Tarnex moreso than yours
What's odd is I haven't looked at that coin in some time, just thought about it with LowLife's post here. This one is not in the album since we upgraded her. Still can't part with any of these yet. I'm been contemplating selling some that way I can afford to upgrade, alas....
I was ill the last Capped Bust thread so am looking forward to the next one....
