Hi, we get bags of 50p, £1 and £2 most weeks. Foreign coins tend to be quite common eg the Cyprus coin shaped like a 50p. Latest is a Turkish lira masquerading as a £2 coin. The bank pay us back what we are down. but we also find some goodies eg the Rio handover £2 coin (not widely circulated) a Falklands £2 and an abolition of slavery broken out of an uncirculated set. Latest good find is a Gibraltar frosted 50p which I have to look into - any tips?

I found a frosted gibraltar 50p...im not sure if its proof. I think it might just be a nicely made coin (odd for a dependency).

Im going to put a couple of farthings into circulation at some point. See how far they get.

Oh wow , interesting stuff - I wish I could find the coins you guys find - I can only count with one the number of foreign coins I have found recently and I would still have a few fingers left! Let us know when you place those farthings into circulation it will be very to see if they get found by someone on the forum ......

Maybe you should get a collar-press (somehow) and stamp an e-mail address around the edges? I've considered doing that in Canada, but our only round plain-edged coin is the nickel, and something tells me we'll stop making them soon (the NDP is pushing for this), and I have no idea how you'd get an edge-lettering press made for home use.
