Hi,

I need some help with the "L" variety on the 1864 Indian Head Bronze Cent. I spent over an hour researching this and I believe it is a "L" variety but I want to be sure. I believe I do see the L and also the more pointed bust. Thanks in advance.

It is difficult to tell from the picture and the fact the coin is very worn, but I cannot see the 'L' and the bust appears to be rounded. However, I am not a 100% sure.

I can't be 100% sure with the wear but I don't believe it's an "L" variety. Unfortunately, due to the bust I'm almost positive it's not an "L" variety. The bust definitely looks rounded to me, comparing it to photos of a pointed this one definitely appears rounded. I'm sure you've already seen this photo but here's a side by side comparison.. You can see the pointed bust is much thinner and comes to a point, while yours definitely resembles the rounded one more so. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a downer but it is what it is...
