It was POURING with rain, but I went to the banks anyway.
At my dump bank I found a 2 euro cent, as well as a Canadian quarter and nickel in the reject bin. At the buy bank I cashed a check, and got a box of pennies. In my cash portion, I noticed she was going to give me an old $5 bill, and I said I was happy to get it, then she then mentioned that she had more old fives, and offered to sell them to me. All together I got 9 of them, 7 from 1977 and 2 from 1974.
2 of the '77s are in pretty good shape... a bit wavy but not folded.
When I got to my car after running with a box of pennies, I could see a wheat reverse showing through one of the inspection holes. I only opened one end so I could put the coins in the roll again.
The end coin looked old. I was thinking 30s.. but it turned out to be a 1944D. I glanced at the next coin and saw that it was also a 1944D wheat!
Hmm.. 2 wheats in a row.. maybe more? so I pulled out the rest of the coins, but there weren't any other exciting ones.

I have high hopes for the rest of the box though.

Not a bad day so far, despite being rained on.

Nice score!

Where I live, right now it is so dry I have to water the garden at least 3 times a day! And 10 minutes after watering it, it looks dry again!

Trout.. Judging by the way you spell "neighbors" I don't think we could be any farther away from each other. :)

Noah, I feel your pain. That's how it was here last year. In the last few days here we went from a below average rainfall for the month to more than 2 inches above average.
Hopefully is is coming your way.

I have a $50 bag of pennies I want to get through before I start the box. This bag is pretty much a dud so far though so I will be happy when its done.

So, the box was okay.
Not fantastic, but I found a 1918,1919 and a 1927 as well as a few other wheats.
Stranglely, most of rolls that had wheats had more than one per roll.

These four all have similar pink spots. What may have caused this?
