The reply I got back from ebay (less than 12 hours, overnight on a holiday!) stated that the seller pulled it himself before ebay could.

I'd imagine that eBayers who were feeling more charitable than I was last night (I just flat reported it) advised the seller that his account was in danger if he let the auction continue.

I looked at the cancelled bids. Highest was $5000. Can't believe anyone would spend that much on a questionable coin.
