I like the look of those Perth Mint 10oz poured bars. I've been trying to find them (in the US) and haven't had any luck. I contacted the Perth Mint people and
they told me in so many words to go pound sand. Evidently their authorized US distributors/dealers carry their coins but not any of their bars. When I asked
them how I could go about obtaining those bars over here, they went from being singularly unhelpful to ignoring my emails.

I looked on ebay but had no luck there. Does anybody know anywhere you can find these bars in the US?

Thanks for the lead, Bobby. Last time I looked (admittedly a while ago) there were no listings. Looks like these nicely polished beauties are going for some serious bucks, too.

Four of those bars have sold thus far and went for $311, $316, $334 and $336. That's considerably more than I pay for old Engelhard pours.
Looks like I'll be sticking with the old Engelhards and leaving these Perth Mint bars to whoever's willing to pay those kind of prices.

Peter-- I checked out Bullion Bourse and Gold Stackers. They both had those bars for about $275 AUD, but neither responded to my emails.
I'm getting the sensation that non-response to Yank emails is a common Aussie PM business practice. Oh, well--it doesn't really matter.
The Engelhard bars I can buy locally, cheaper and without difficulty will probably be more liquid when my heirs go to sell them, anyhow.

Thanks for the thought, though.

Got a belated email response from Bullion Bourse. They do ship to the US, but the shipping is costly. If you buy four 10oz bars, it comes to $15 per bar.
That brings the total cost to about $283 per 10oz bar, which is definitely better than ebay but still pricey.

Hi Freddy,

Good to hear that they "finally" got back to you. They really need to lift their game. Supposedly they are having trouble keeping up with demand. At least that is what they tell us.

Regarding the prices, even us in Oz are not happy with the Perth Mint and Bullion Bourse at present. Charging almost 30% over spot is just nuts.

In any case, hope you get what you want ok.

Cheers
Pete

Very interesting. I agree the premium is high but the quality of Perth Mint is exceptional.
I understand that Perth Mint just recently launching this program?
Canada Mint also have similar program (I think)..... you can buy their ETR and redeem for physical....
