Hello all
Recently picked this up and wanted to share it with all of you.
Here is about all I know about the Medal.

-Julian AM-62
-Silver
-31mm
-Given out by the New York Agricultural Society
-Has the Goddess Ceres on the front
-Awarded to F Smith for Model Water Wheel from Buffalo New York in 1857
-I did find the book online that referenced F Smith and his Model

The Medals were made by George H Lovett who made Medals and Tokens from 1847 til 1892

If anyone knows of Value or any more information on this Medal(Or who F Smith from Buffalo was), I'd love to learn! Its been fun researching and hunting down what this is.

I own several of the small diameter silver N.Y.Ag. Society medals, having lived in Western New York and collected them for several years. I don't know of a better way to research this other than to obtain a copy of the N.Y. Ag. Society journal for the year 1857. It would likely have more detailed info on the awardee. Other options include researching contemporary business directories from Buffalo and surrounding cities. Perhaps even checking the Federal census reports of 1850 & 1860 would provide a lead. If you ever decide to part with this medal, I would appreciate your notice.

I did find the 1858 Journal that referenced F Smith and his Model Water Wheel. But other than that, it did not have anything else. No First name, just basically whats on the Medal.
