I went yesterday at 11am and I might have seen about 30 people max at the show. It wasn't crazy except some of the latest releases from the mint and their premium the dealers were asking.

There were several recent shows in my area, in which dealers expressed the same feeling, and at times you could see it.

Anyone see if there were any 1912-1914 Gold hoard coins at the show?

I wonder what a $10 1912 Gold hoard coin go for.

I asked that same question at the show and the gold hoard coins are over priced. Most if not all dealers are not even buying anymore from collectors because the premium has almost disappeared. I have my $5 hand select and am going to hang on to it. Bust when they were first released, I could have easily sold that coin for $900....now, ebay BIN sales at $700 are getting NO hits. Even at $650 its a hard sell.

Gold dropped sharply after the sale (I think the mint was in on it...its just too perfect they sold off all that gold JUST before the biggest drop in 30 years haha )

regardless, I'm looking to buy a $10 1914 coin to start my 1914 series...but I will now only buy non-gold hoard coins, and they are the same grade and much, MUCH cheaper. An MS-62 can be had for just over 5% BV

interesting observations. I wonder if this is happening because some people have dropped off because the prices in gold and silver have been falling, thereby leaving only the regular core hobbyists as the supportive group.

I been wondering if, as gold and silver go lower, that across the board peoples interest in coins goes down.

IF that's the case tho, I don't view that as bad at all. IT will mean lower prices, less prems AND oddly enough, I feel values on coins will go up as the masses lose interest.

This show had very little to do with PMs. Why speculation on that end? This show is about coins and currency and only a few pockets even dealt in PMs.

Because peoples interest grows in gold and silver with coins. Surprised you missed that point.
