hello everyone, I'm a new member and this is my first post. So, I have this 1877 S Trade dollar. But I have no clue of its rareness and value. maybe somebody could help me out with that? I used to collect US coins so I have a lot more.

From the pictures, it looks like it is a fake, specifically a cast fake. I would check to see if it is magnetic.

i Doubt if it's a fake, because of the wearing.its not magnetic. Maybe because of the way I took this picture it looks fake? sorry my camera isn't the best one... What would it be worth when its not a reproduction? here's another pic...

Please remove the coin from the flip and provide some close ups of the motto on the reverse I'm no expert and I don't collect this series but I have to tell you it looks counterfeit to me. most China based counterfeits these days are not magnetic so you can have a fake that doesn't stick to a magnet. the truth lies within the details of the coin. what other coins do you have in your collection from your previous days?

I'm not ready to pronounce this one a counterfeit based on such small images - to me, there isn't much visible here that isn't consistent with a worn Trade dollar. I don't see any really trashy surfaces, and the devices certainly seem to have sufficient relief for the wear.

The new pictures do look better, but without closer pics it's hard to tell.

Do you have an accurate scale to see how much it weighs to the tenth or hundredth of a gram?

From the pictures provided, it doesn't seem to be a fake. The details appear correct and the wear looks consistent with a worn Trade dollar. Grade looks to be around a F/VF.

I still don't see anything inconsistent about it. The previous suggestion about weighing it is relevant, though, if you can; there are some pretty intelligent fakes out there.

This one looks genuine to me but test the weight to be sure. Grade looks Fine-15.

It looks genuine to me also, but it also looks polished and damaged. I would say F details.

Doesn't look like a fake. Looks like F-15 details. Reverse looks cleaned. The obverse looks pitted which could be light corrosion or maybe the photo is just a little grainy.
