Found this this weekend. With the exception of a little copper sprinkled in the field on the obverse, only the high points seem to have copper. The reverse looks pretty cool. Any ideas on what may have caused this?

I have no idea what caused that, but it looks really cool. I would keep it just cause.

It looks like it has a thin layer of paint on it and then circulated wearing off the paint on the high points.

The coin has been coated with something and it is beginning to wear off which is revealing the copper plating.

i agree it looks nothing like my non plated zinc mine weighs 2.4 grams and has no wear time to bust out the scale.

Looks cool, but someone must have done something to it.

Here is an image of what an authentic partially plated zincolin should look like...

Notice the splotchiness and the copper is in random spots
