Got A Penny Roll From Bank (June '13, Canada)

Jard New Member Canada 16 Posts	Posted 06/03/2013 5:29 pm This is in Canada. Just went to the bank today and asked for all the rolls of quarters and dimes the woman had. After buying them she asked if I was a coin collector, and I said yes. Surprisingly she said she had a roll of pennies there, and I quite happily bought those too. Haven't pennies been out of circulation for 2-3 months? Wasn't that woman not supposed to give out pennies (not that I'm complaining) or is it just a rare occurrence and that maybe I should check in often to see if they get pennies in? I still am able to get penny rolls (some are mint 2012) from big box stores but some employees are more willing to oblige than others. Once I was at a bank and saw a bag of pennies behind the counter and I could not convince him to sell them to me. Report this Post to the Staff

I had some luck with a teller at TD but then asked a different teller the next time and she let everybody know that they were not to be handing out pennies. Although I got 4 boxes May 18th and another 49 rolls last week at RBC (but this is apparently fairly rare). I started coin roll hunting only in the last couple months and I've managed to find over 30lbs of copper (mostly from banks). Report this Post to the Staff
