Poll Question
Part 2 of 2

Here's the link to the semi-finalists in the US Mint's Baseball Coin Design Competition: http://batterup.challenge.gov/submissions

Which would you like to see be selected for the upcoming National Baseball Hall of Fame commemorative coins?

Note 1: I had to divide the 24 semi-finalists between two poll posts (the limit for one poll is 15 choices). The choices are listed alphabetically. Please select only ONE design from EITHER Part 1 OR Part 2.

Note 2: Some of the design names are very similar - please vote carefully.

Next Friday night, I'll close the poll and list the top three vote getters between the two posts.

I like the spirit of baseball but it may be too similar to the 1992 olympic commemerative.

I am not actually partial to any of these designs. That said the only one I actually liked was the Big 3 - but the title doesn't really work for me. The Big 3 should be the hitter - the pitcher and the catcher to me...

Funny - you posted this as I was posting to the other thread!

Theres quite a few of them that I like. The action shots are all pretty well done as is the glory of the game. I even like the liberty is a grand slam. The Essence of a Nations Past Time is my favorite at first glance, though I fear theyll pick the Batter Up one since it would be the easiest to do

I haven't decided which I prefer yet, but I am leaning toward the three designs that feature just a baseball mitt/glove. I think such a design will work well with the concave surface on which it will be struck. Also, I think it ties nicely into the image of the baseball on the coin's reverse.

Of the "mitt only" designs, the one titled "Dad's Baseball Glove" has my attention most as it reflects a style of mitt/glove that was in use when the Baseball Hall of Fame was launched back in 1939 and it encompasses almost the entire surface of the coin (just like the baseball on the other side).

I tend to think the mitt designs will be picked as well. With the trend of late to simplify the visual to almost nothing of interest - that is what we will get.

There are four that I would like to have. Narrowing my choice down to one is not easy. Three of those four designs might be ruined by the concave strike. The fourth, I think, would be enhanced by it.

The more I think about this convex design the more I am leaning to a mitt on 1 side and a ball on the other.... it actually makes sense and would fit the design. Will it make for a cool coin - I guess we will have to wait and see.
