Can you please help me grade this 1972-P Type 2 Eisenhower? I'm not very good at grading and I'm thinking about sending it to ANACS if it will grade high enough to justify the cost. Thanks for all the help.

I hope this is not too many photos.

All Eisenhowers are nice coins but I wouldn't give yours more that a MS60/61 at best. Look at your coin carefully and note how the face is marked, low luster if any and marks in the background fields both obverse and reverse. I may be hard in my judgement but thats what I do with my own coins. I would spend my money on a better grade coin myself. Good luck with whatever avenue you pursue.

Thanks BTTB. I also noticed all the marks as well as the ding in the rim at about 5 o'clock. I tried to compare it to pics on The Ike Group's website and became even more confused.

Thanks everyone. I didn't think it would grade high enough to justify slabbing it. I decided to just put it in a 2x2 and throw it in a box of other coins I'm saving. I'll keep looking for the next one.

I should have another $1000 bag waiting at the bank for me today. I just have to get there before they close.

I would throw my "guess-ta-ment" out there and say...AU53-55.

A "Key" is a "Key" to me!

Here is the breakdown from PCGS

Grade - Qty
40 - 1
45 - 3
50 - 4
53 - 7
55 - 70

Lower AU coin. Not worth a slab.
You can get up to $50.00 for it at the bay.

Thanks Indian1, I didn't know it was worth that much. That will really make me think twice about selling it now.

I can see why FTB says these are better to find than the common date morgan or Peace dollars.
