These editions mentioned of Charltons are easy to find. Since Charlton owns the Zoell numbering system how about a variety catalogue we can all buy for 60 bucks or so? Report this Post to the Staff
DBM Pillar of the Community Canada 9866 Posts	Posted 06/12/2013 12:15 am I'm still waiting for the Charlton-Zoell variety catalogue.I believe that when the variety section first appeared in the back of Charlton's they promised such a catalogue would be published in a few years. SPP-Ottawa Moderator Canada 10463 Posts	Posted 06/12/2013 12:36 am 54dollarcoin, some folks are paying a hefty premium for the 65th edition of the Charlton catalogue (large cents), even more than what a Major Variety Zoell catalogue sometimes fetches... Charlton Press purchased the Zoell Numbering System and Variety Catalogue rights in 1972 from Hans Zoell... but back in 2004, Charlton Press had ambitions of reclassifying the Zoell catalogue numbers by using the Herbert system (Alan Herbert, 6th edition of the Official Price Guide to Mint Errors, 2002). For a summary of the attempted Charlton variety system, see page 418 of the 58th edition of the Charlton Catalogue (2005). I have spoken about this with Bill Cross. He would love someone to take the reins on this, but that would essentially be a full time job for years - so it would require a dedicated, retired (because the rest of us work), variety expert....
