Darn it I wish the mints would spot coming out with coins that I want to buy ... Got to get me a couple of these. From the Perth Mint. Quote:Doctor Who is currently the longest running and most successful science fiction television series of all time. Produced in Great Britain by the BBC, the programme depicts the adventures of a time travelling alien known as the Doctor. He explores the universe in his TARDIS, a telepathic travel machine that's bigger on the inside than the outside, and outwardly appears to be a blue 1960s British police box. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor saves the universe from deadly monsters and villains. This coin depicts an engraved relief of the iconic TARDIS used by the Doctor to travel through space and time. This bursts forth out of a dynamic high quality colour printed background representing time travel. The coins border features the finely engraved words Doctor Who 50TH ANNIVERSARY 1963 - - " 2013. The coin is packaged in a special presentation case in the shape of the iconic TARDIS. The doors of the TARDIS open to display the 1oz coin and Certificate of Authenticity. ON SALE 9:00 AM AWST Monday 17 JUNE 2013 http://www.perthmint.com.au/doctor-...of-coin.aspx*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by Northerncoins 06/13/2013 7:48 pm

If only it had more silver on the inside than it appears to on the outside.

Why did they have to make it a silkscreened coin? :-/ Plus, there were so many other things with Dr. Who iconography that they could have incorporated into this. I dunno, I don't feel that it quite "fits" the series.

Some Gallifreyan script around the edge would have been a nice touch

If anybody was looking for this coin from a Canadian source, this person on ebay is selling it for $ 130 plus $ 10 shipping. I don't know this person, I am not promoting him, all I am saying is that I found a Canadian source. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-50TH-A...em1e7d6bd733

Quote: I don't know this person, I am not promoting him CCF Member Since he sells coins (online shop and ebay) for issue price, sometimes with small discount, and his shipping charge is reasonable - why not to buy from him? Except this, his "in hand" photos very helpful

I am fighting very hard to NOT buy this. While it certainly appeals to the Whovian in me I think I will wait to see where the price ends up.
