Thanks Noah and NorthernCoins!
For those interested in making their own stands, it is cheaper and lots of fun! lol. I used a .093inch thick sheet of Extra Strength Acrylic.... made my own little template and traced them onto the acrylic sheet. I am sure you can use any kind of acrylic plastic that has some rigidity because the stands are so small that not much bending is possible at that scale.
They are cheap to make. Cost me $5 for an 8x10inch sheet.... I am sure you can get the acrylic plastic for cheaper if you get a larger sheet or hunt around for cheaper prices. I just bought a small sheet from Home Depot since this was my first attempt at the stands. And I just used a basic contact cement - which adds almost nothing to the cost of each stand. You use so little contact cement that each stand probably uses .1cent worth.
With that small sheet I was able to make 12 stands, but I had a lot of waste left. Once I get a smaller blade for the band-saw I can trace out the shapes to create very little waste and get more stands out of the plastic. So these costs me about .42cents each to make. But next time I will get a bigger sheet and have less waste, so the price per stand should drop considerably more, probably under .20each or less.
Edit: Also, I agree with LostWords... CC-Ottawa your picture is making me also want to go out hunting for copper rounds :)

Quote: Yup. The allegory is nice but some of those coppers are just as nice and cost between $1.50 and $2.75 compared to $39 bucks. I guess a capsule, a clamshell and limited mintages makes a big difference.
Sure it's like comparing silver bullion to proof silver coins but generally the Ag premium multiplier is 3 or 4 times. Not 15-25 times like these coppers. Crazy. Yes its higher above spot then silver but when you think about it its only about $1.00 to $2.00 per coin which is actually lower for the most part then silver bullion per coin /round which can go anywhere between $2.00 to $6.00 or higher. I mean you can only sell something if there is enough profit to pay for production/handling etc etc , if there were selling for 20 cents above spot for instance then I don't think you would see these on the market , it just wouldn't be worth while to produce. Personally I like most of the 1 oz coppers and paying even $2.75 is a bargain price for a nice looking coin.

You know, I sell the private mint copper rounds, and I never thought of it this way. I almost ordered the silver and copper, but I will abstain. I typically only pay significantly over bullion if a coin is very low mintage and a historical theme I like, such as the 1812 coins.
You just saved me about $150. I thank you!

I just bought some of those Maples/US rounds for my store, and I think they are going to be a real hit. Those copper rounds sell at a very nice markup for me. To be honest, I think they are a fantastic way to have a cheap "coin" collection.
1) They are crown sized -plus, and bigger is better with coins. 2) They are cheap, typically no more than $5/ea. 3) They have incredibly varied designs, including many reproductions of classic designs.
I hope someone does a Canadian 2012 penny..I could get $20/ea for those...

How do I quote a reply?
@Northerncoins, luckily I haven't been slapped with duty/tax. I usually choose the cheapest shipping method and I don't know why but I've only been charged duty/tax when I choose more expensive methods.

Or don't use Quick Reply box, on top of the Quick Reply box is a "reply to Topic" link which has the quote button along with a bunch of other things such as you tube , hyper links and so on.
Hit the "insert quote button" and you will get this [quote][quote], just put your text between the two of them.
Errrr I guess that is what CC posted , just ignore this post lol...
