ID On Medallion - Black Cross, Helmet And Crossed Swords

dangenet New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 06/18/2013 4:58 pm Hello everyone, I found this medallion in an antique clock that's been in the family for about 5 generations. The clock's earliest known location was in Dundee, Michigan. The photo will show you everything that I know about this item. The cross is about the size of a quarter. dangenet New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 06/21/2013 10:10 pm After further digging on the Mason hint (credits to rooneydog), we have identified this medallion. The initials on the insignia are "B of L F E", which stands for "Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers". This union/fraternal organization borrowed heavily from the Masons in its early years; thus, the medallion incorporates several masonic elements. It likely belonged to my great- great- grandfather, who was a railroad man in Michigan in the early 1900s. I don't know where to file this thread now that this medal is identified.
