I stopped by the LCS today and picked up this wicked monster toned silver Bicentennial Washington quarter. I think this is natural toning, especially since the reverse is completely free of any. I would like opinions, though. The green color is simply spectacular. I tried to capture it the best I could. I think it shows up best in the last photo. When I angle the coin in the light it looks like a glowing Christmas tree! Man, I LOVE this coin. Even if the toning is artificial (which I hope it isn't), it really won't make a difference to me. Should I send this in to get graded? Looking forward to your comments.

That's a nice tone!

Save your money for something better. It's not worth to have it graded.

clad toners will be a very strong collectible market. clad is starting to tone up now- but most of them tone dark yellow and it's very ugly. i'd get this coin certified.

cc- yeah I'm going to get it certified, probably through NGC. I have always preferred NGC to PCGS. The only reason I collected my IKE set in PCGS holders was so that they would be a separate entity in my collection. I kind of wish I had stuck with NGC. Still, they look really good all together in the same type of holder. I haven't joined NGC yet, but when I do this one will be sent in. I would send my coins to ANACS, but I just can't like their holders.

Still not certain weather its silver clad or just clad but I do believe the toning is natural. Very nice coin though.
