Hi,
I'm new to collecting and to your site. I found this coin in a roll of indian/wheats purchased on ebay. I've been researching causes of errors, and thought this might be a Cud? Your thoughts are appreciated! Please look at Lincoln's neckline. Also, thanks alot for having a sizing option on your site!
Thanks

Hello and to CCF

A Cud would involve an area that looks similar to yours
starting at the rim. Not in the area shown on your coin.
Also, the color of the raised area showing on yours seems
to look of a different color/tone so it may just be some sort
of debris that got put on or stuck on the surface of the coin. If it is indeed copper than a pretty good chunk of the
obv. die has been damaged.

After squinting at the blob for a while...to the naked eye its almost unnoticeable, I broke out my magnet. It's big, and pulls up a sewing needle at 2.5". I set it directly on the coin and its not reacting at all.
