Not extra chrome. That is rust occurring under the chromium plating, causing it to bubble up like that. Just like you see on the rear quarter panel of almost every older car in Canada...

Thats what is happening . I thought they spilled the chrome when they put this coin together . Thanks . This is why I am on this site to learn from the pros . Thanks again

The plated coins were struck on plated blanks,no "putting together" required.

"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
