Looking to buy a decent amount of Coin World Premeir slabs from a US online seller. I found a few places via google, but never used any of them. Anyone have suggestions? Quality of service, shipping speed and reliability trumps price. Thanks!

Oh, also, to people that have actually used these slabs... How flexible and forgiving is the inner material? As in, if I have a 24.9mm insert and a 25mm coin, will they get along? :)

The two places I've purchased them from are air-tites.com and amosadvantage.com. Amos prices are loads better. You get 3 of a given size for $2.97 or 0.99 each. They're 1.75 individually from air-tites.com.

The advantage to air-tites is that if you need just a single you can get just one. If you have a bunch of coins to slab, especially in one denomination then Amos is the better deal. Both have great service, Amos is a little slower in delivery than air-tites but both get there just fine.

As far as forgiving, I cannot really comment. I've only purchased those for exact fit to the coins I am slabbing.

Thanks for the info! Are the inserts more foam like, or hard plastic like?

They're not foam like at all. It's a, please forgive the answer, rubber or poly type material. It is fairly rigid but can be bent a little so that the coin can fit snugly into the insert. Here is a picture of one of my coins in the insert:

This probably doesn't help much but it is not a foam insert at all. I really like the World Premier Slabs and use them for any non TPG graded coins.

As srs77 mentioned, the inserts have the consistency of a semi pliable rubber. This link will show you how flexible the inserts are. http://www.amosadvantage.com/scotto...Mov01545.mpg

I have been a supporter of these holders in the past on this forum. I can't say that I would support the use of these anymore. The issue has to deal with the toning that I have been struggling with with the coins in these holders. I have PCGS and NGC slabbed coins right along side of these holders. The slabs are stored in a NGC slab box with sacrificial cents, the slab boxes go to to a Ziploc bag with a 40g canister of silica gel, all the air pushed out and sealed. Stored in a area with constant temperatures and still toning on the coins in the in Coin World premier coin holders.

I have used trial and error to determine what the culprit is and I think it is the inserts. At this point I am going to use 2x2's and put them in the acrylic snap case that the inserts go in. I hope that will solve the issue.

Maybe others have had success, but with the 100 or so I have purchased over the last 2.5 years I have had toning issues. I purchased these from Amos Advantage (they have good customer service) and voiced my concerns about these holders. There seems to be something in the inserts that doesn't agree with some of the coins. I mainly have seen issues with modern proofs that are in these holders in my type set.

Good to know and a good review. In the end I think I am going to be forced to find another storage solution after all anyway. I have quite a few coins that would not be "direct fit" and I want to make my life easier, not harder ;)
