Hello everyone!

Recently I received 3 Alexander III bronze coins, 2 half and 1 quarter.

The half with a horse came from a reputable dealer, so it should be good.

The half with the shield/helmet, and the quarter with the bow/quiver was from a dealer that I am not as sure about.

The coins all seem close enough to their weights and dimensions.

The half piece with shield/helmet concerns me a bit. If I rub it with the edge of my fingernail, it leaves a dark residue on my nail. Also it seems very pitted(from casting?). The edge of the coin doesn't have a casting line, but something seems "off" to me about the coin.

Sorry my camera is so bad, I have to learn how to take better pictures of coins.

Maybe these images wont be good enough.

i don't know, but maybe the patina is coming off....looks like someone dipped it in acid or something maybe? I think it looks ok but you'll want a more informed opinion than mine.

Thanks guys, I'm no expert and if you think these look real then that's good enough for my humble collection.

Yeup, looks real enough. I have one of the center ones - looks alright, just acid dipped.
