Per wikipedia, this is the medal the mint awards to their employees who have been in service for 15 years. The medal measures 60mm in diameter and 157grams in weight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_...d_medallionsDoes the design change at all? Care to share/guess the existing mintage or value?

I was merely looking for more information on this medal besides what is already on wikipedia. From the lack of interest, I guess there is no more. Assume 100 such medals were awarded every year in the past 30 years and the design was never changed, then the mintage could reach 3,000. I also expect that from this year or next, the medal will show the new RCM logo? Value-wise, the medals could hold a great sentimental value to the recipients. I don't expect many of them will put their medals on the market. But as always, I could be way off on any of the above assumptions.

They are also issued in silver, for 25 year employees and there is a 35 year medal as well.

Thanks SPP. I have heard of those, but couldn't find any image. So few information exist. I guess it is like no supply and no demand for them.

Wow, 75mm in diameter! That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know RCM has been busy making all these employee's only products. Cool!

Here is another neat RCM medal, also quite large.

These were also issued to all mint employees in 2011. It is a hybrid of the 2011 coin designs, pure silver, and quite beautiful. You see them on ebay on occasion. https://goccf.com/t/142754

They definitely look nicer! But I kind of like the simplicity of the medal in OP. :)

I really like the 1986 commemorative medal. The detail of the building contrasted with the plain background really makes it stand out. Plus it kind of reminds me of a castle.
