Well the 1952 I picked up for $15. My camera isn't the best, nor was my lighting but I think I did ok. The 1958 I have had for a while. That's the small start to my Franklin collection.

Sorry for the bad lighting. The holder has some sort of stain on the first picture, and the lighting is horrible in all of the pics.

I think the '52 is a details coin. Could just be the 2x2.

Well I guess I have to learn some time, what is a "details" coin? This coin has the bell line going all the way up and you can faintly make out the letters. On the front the detail is pretty full, and in addition the coin has plenty of luster. So I think it's ok, I really just need a better lighting situation and a camera over 8 megapixels.

A "details" coin is usually a mention to some issue, cleaning, scratched and damaged are the main culprit's as are altered surface, and questionable color. The reference to your 1952 may be AU details, cleaned. there seems to be visible hair lines in your photo that may be the results of a wipe or cleaning.

Your 1958 is an average circulated example probably in a VF condition.

tbromme - bell lines on a Franklin reference the lines that run horizontal on the bell. You will probably need a jewelers lope or a good magnifying lens to see them clearly.

The hair lines muddler is refering too can be seen in the first picture top left where your lighting is a bit better. It is hard to tell if the coin shows that or if the holder is causing the light scratches - which are usually caused by an abrasive used in cleaning a coin.

Uhh I will retake pictures sometime, but while I do agree with the 1958, I don't know about the '52. It has what I believe is a lot of original luster, and I don't know if cleaning would add or subtract that luster but who really knows
