We are staying in Winnipeg for a few days week after next, I just learned our hotel is almost directly across the street from the mint. I don't collect Canadian coins but am wondering if anyone else has done a tour and would you recommend it?

I am not sure if they do tours of that facility or not but if they do I would erge you to go. I went to the RC mint in Ottawa and it was great and it was a reasonable price. fun for the whole family no doubt you should check mint.ca for more info.

I've been there - didn't do a tour but it was easy to follow. There are some good displays and you get to look down on the production area. The admission price was very reasonable and there was a good shop. I'd definitely recommend it.

I would recommend taking the tour. You can go without the tour guide, but I feel they do mention a lot of interesting facts that you might not realize...
