I once saw a a loose Star wars Vlix figure AFA 85 most rare from 1985 Droid series jump from 250 to 1750 in last 30 seconds. Same winner lists it at 3k to 4k plus now lol....

You see this more often in toy collecting genre as value is more shall we say opinionated and varies between bidders as pointed out by Bobby on that old rare Lionel set, where as pmz value is more cut in dry...

That piece above I asume had much numismatic value, hence that large jump from 500 to 2100 plus....

To add to your point about 15 minute phone updates it gets on my nerves sometimes, but to often it helps remind me to snake an item I really want....

I could not go back to old days before smart phones as those without have NO IDEA how much it helps, esp if you sell on ebay....

For example when I am in box up mode, I need that handy phone in hand which CLEARLY shows me who has paid with large red stamp over item, so I just work my way down list from 1st bough to last box up and marking the SHIPPED button as I go, which shows brown box under paid stamp to indicate item has shipped.....

You cant put a price tag on how valuable that feature is to me, and if they sent E-check it will not show PAID in red until it clears....
