I've heard that you can remove ink from a coin without damaging it by dipping it in acetone.

Erns, It did not look like ink to me, the pics may not show but it appears to be part of the coin - But all I have to waste is a penny so I'll let you know and maybe learn something in the process

Kind of what I expected, part of the coin soaked 10 min in 100% acetone in a glass dish lightly wiped with a soft bristle paintbrush and still there.

So what would you call it slag inclusion in the coin?
