Does anyone here know what country makes the coin mechanisms for vending machines for Canada and the U.S.? I have always heard that the same vending machine company that makes U.S. vending machines, also makes Canada's vending machines. In other words, its all one company. And since the same company makes both U.S. and Canadian vending machines, they are capable of accepting a U.S. $2 coin, just as they can accept Canadian toonies, (and its been said that they could also accept Canadian halves, as loonies)

Anyway, to the point. Publius said this about coin mechs accepting U.S. halves in another thread:

Quote:
The coin mechanisms you buy on ebay from China mostly specify they'll accept anything up to 32 mm. Since the modern half is 30.6, if you want to build your own coin-op machine, you can make it take halves.

So, does anyone know if the vending machines here in the U.S. and in Canada are made in China? Because, if so, these machines may in fact, have the ability to accept, and probably dispense both halves, and U.S. $2 coins if we ever get a $2 coin.
