Hi,

I have a penny but have never seen this image on the reverse.

1881 with the H Mint mark

Who is it?

Thanks in advance. Does this affect the value?

Someone has taken an engraving tool and transformed Vicky into another character. I dont know who its meant to be, but I'm sure they would have been recognisable in the day. This adds value - its contemporary art etched onto a penny (well, it *can* add value and this one looks pretty nice, id say its got a hefty premium).

Some people collect such things when done nicely - this ones pretty good, but its still possible to see the bun at the back. All together, pretty nice, but with such unique objects, price is unknowable until sold.

thanks Ben. I'm going to sell it on ebay, unless advised otherwise. Now you've mentioned it the bun is pretty clear.

Thanks again
