Apologies if this has been asked before but I'm curious because some of my Britannia say "uncirculated" and others just "bullion"

If The Royal Mint is similar to the canadian mint then the "bullion grade" isn't actually a grade. Bullion in canada is a finish put on the very high grade coins produced by the mint. In canada we have different versions of bullion finish but they are all usually a frosted relief agaist a mirror background. There are a few which use paralell lines instead of the mirror background. Usually if it is bullion finish you have a specimen on proof set rather than a simple uncirculated set. Hope this helps.

"Uncirculated" and "bullion" are not grades.Bullion coins are those issued and traded primarily for their precious metal value rather than face or collectible value.A Brittania can be both bullion and uncirculated.

In Canadian;
"Bullion coins" are the gold,silver,palladium,and platinum Maple Leaf coins and the special issues thereof.
"Bullion finsh" is a term coined by the mint to describe the brilliant relief on parallel lined background introduced for the first gold Maple Leaf issue of 1979,and continued on all regular issue Maple Leafs of all compositions.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

@ DBM

Right, but cosmetically I can't see a difference between a bullion coin and uncirculated.
