Hey guys, been 4 full weeks since the last coin finished cleaning...sad. I've had all my coins in cleaning taken out of oil until I get a larger batch. Its difficult to sustain a batch of only a few coins in cleaning - accidentally letting oil stagnate etc.

Here it is, another Theodosius II cross coin, I believe from Constantinople, very low grade but my kind of coin - from JCMWorld (he supplied me a bunch of uncleaned coins and a couple of really nice coins - one will come up soon(ish) in another post):

(10mm, pretty big for the type, large flan - its got the mint mark!)

And a piece of new equipment. I previously had glass jars for oil and whatnot which were recovered from a beach, but they've been done away with - this little jar is from a carboot sale. I traded a couple of doughnuts for it! From 1900-1930. Reads: WHEELER / LONDON / TRADE MARK / SOFT WHITE HANDS. Must've been skin cream.

I've got just a handfull left in oil, I'm kind of burned out on cleaning. i'll probably buy some higher quality stuff again when I come off my current coin hold.

is that a vot? looks like the wreath and Xs..if so, I only have one with a mint mark.

Nope, Theodosius II cross through and through. The cross was much clearer pre-cleaning, but thats sometimes the way it goes.

Its suitably late so I'm keeping it with the rest of my 'keep' coins. Hopefully my new lot will contain some more of this era.
