Very Late Roman Out Of Cleaning And New Equipment

Ben Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 4208 Posts	Posted 07/31/2013 5:41 pm Hey guys, been 4 full weeks since the last coin finished cleaning...sad. I've had all my coins in cleaning taken out of oil until I get a larger batch. Its difficult to sustain a batch of only a few coins in cleaning - accidentally letting oil stagnate etc. Here it is, another Theodosius II cross coin, I believe from Constantinople, very low grade but my kind of coin - from JCMWorld (he supplied me a bunch of uncleaned coins and a couple of really nice coins - one will come up soon(ish) in another post): (10mm, pretty big for the type, large flan - its got the mint mark!) And a piece of new equipment. I previously had glass jars for oil and whatnot which were recovered from a beach, but they've been done away with - this little jar is from a carboot sale. I traded a couple of doughnuts for it! From 1900-1930. Reads: WHEELER / LONDON / TRADE MARK / SOFT WHITE HANDS. Must've been skin cream. Report this Post to the Staff

The cross was much clearer pre-cleaning, but thats sometimes the way it goes. Its suitably late so I'm keeping it with the rest of my 'keep' coins.
