A nice little coin from Castulo. I think it is the type with a star above the boar.

The sellers pics were not that good and I had hoped for a little more detail, but all and all it's not bad for the type, nicely centered.

I don't have anything useful to say, but that's a wonderful coin. Great patina, well-centered, lovely.

I love these Castulo Coins. They are an interesting series. Notice how the male head (usually attributed to Apollo) looks an awful like JC and Octavian? These coin, are often overlooked but have really interesting art and script. Kudos Ducet!

I've got a soft spt for the castulo coins also, neat that's it's the boar instead of the usual bull. the color is nice.
I have one that me be a boar, but the reverse is so bad I can't tell.

Ancientnoob got me thinking about the portrait similarities so I made a couple comparisons to Octavian. It is remarkable how similar the Iberian issues resemble some Octavian portraits. Although most attributions of the Castulo coins (like the one above) put them being minted over a 150 years before Octavian.
